Danny Boyle directed, violent, nasty dark, psychological thriller vehicle for Rosario Dawson, who is amazing; co-starring James McAvoy and my favorite badassmofo Vincent Cassel: yes.
Film Noir, adaptation of a Cornell Woolrich novel, 81 minutes tight, great drunken flashback montage: yes!
Coming of age on the Mississippi River tale from writer/director Jeff Nichols (Take Shelter.) I don't love the steadicam, but yes yes yes: loved it!
http://mud-themovie.com/ Michael Fassbender is fabulous, and it looks great: that's enough for me. If you want to see a really good Ridley Scott movie, watch his first film, THE DUELISTS (1977.)http://www.prometheus-movie.com/
If you don't mind an ambiguous and crappy ending, then you might enjoy this low budget attempt at psycho / time-travel / cultdom infiltration. The end is first surprising, then infuriating. Like a selfish lover who teases you to the brink of a mild yet satisfying orgasm, and leaves you hanging to go listen to bad music...
http://www.soundofmyvoicemovie.com/index2.html Nasty violent British art damage horror film featuring hit men, their women, and an creepy lot of satanists and pedophiles. No no no: unless you like that kind of thing...
Strictly for the middle school demographic. Funny at times, but overall not good, too long, terrible weak ending. Overuse of incredibly annoying blue spherical aberration effect.
Loved the tough Mom's story but the pay-off seems hard to fathom. It's long, too. Great performance by Lubna Azabal. Two tracks from Radiohead. Why the giant red titles?
