Almodóvar reunites with Banderas, trades camp for lightweight horror, and sticks with themes of betrayal and sexual identity. Looks and sounds great, but the story is so far-out, and too many rapes. Weird, violent. Didn't love it, but can't stop thinking about it.
http://www.sonyclassics.com/theskinilivein/ Long distance romance is hard to do. Once again, gorgeous ladies love an average guy. Not bad, if you enjoy this genre. Even better when you consider the budget: under $250K.
http://www.likecrazy.com/ Great boxing film noir staring John Garfield. Innovative fight photography. Must see!
Great movie, probably the most exciting documentary: ever. Don't need to love cars, or racing to appreciate the life of Brazilian Formula One driver Ayrton Senna. Can't wait to see it again!
http://www.sennamovie.com/ Exotic animal ownership is examined from both sides of the cage. It's good, but not for the super-sensitive big cat lovers.
http://www.theelephantinthelivingroom.com/ Won an Oscar for best documentary. It's old school talking head interviews, and archival footage, narrated by Harvey Fierstein. Great piece of history about a major player in the Civil Rights Movement.
