Ricky Gervais's BBC4 TV mini-series brought to us via Netflix. It's good, mainly because of Kerry Godliman. Kinda funny, ends well: yes!
Taika Waititi's sweet coming of age dramedy, set in 1984, about a motherless impoverished New Zealand child coping with the return of his absentee / recently paroled father. Beautiful, loved it, but not subtitled and the accents are charming, but dense: put your headphones on for this one!
It's funny, crude, and fun to watch: yes!
http://thecampaignmovie.warnerbros.com/dvd/ Huge hit in France, (probably soon to be remade by Hollywood) starring the incredibly charismatic Omar Sy. Awkward social situation, but funny, and touching: yes.
http://weinsteinco.com/sites/the-intouchables/# It's funny, and I love Jack Black and Shirley MacLaine, but it's kinda creepy to like a killer: don't you think?
http://bernie-the-movie.com/ Funny telenovela spoof. I love Will Ferrell, Diego Luna and Gael Garcia Bernal, so yes, see it.
Have you ever had a friend, who answered your every question with a question, usually just repeating your question? Annoying, right? If you hate that, don't watch this quirky romantic comedy starring Jenna Fisher (solidifying her status as the "pretty, yet bland girl") and Chris Messina; unless you absolutely love Toher Grace, who has the funniest role in this simple Detroit love story.
Funny, characters with arcs, the perfect length, and it ends well. Thank you Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant!
Hollywood is SO going to remake this hilarious social comedy about two men, a boy, and the women in their wake on a canoe trip / "tour de pussy". Danish TV stars Casper Christensen and Frank Hvam spin-off their TV show, and team-up to write, and star in this future Danny McBride vehicle.
