Stunning deep space photography from the Hubble telescope and the efforts by NASA to repair and maintain this important project. I hope to see it again, but in the IMAX theater next time.

His films are so heavy-handed, relentless camera twirling, in-your-face and bleak. Mercifully Vincent Cassel is present and contributes the only slightly subtle element to this nightmare.
Fair to say I'm obsessed with this film, and haven't sent it back yet. Yes, it's lovely to watch, but for me the real pleasure is in listening to it. I neglected to mention it's an adaptation of a best selling book, which may or may not be authentic...
Peter Weir: finally. Colin Farrell: fabulous. One of my favorite mumbler's is audible, thanks in part to Richard King: the best sound man in the world. Use your headphones and/or play it loudly. National Geographic Entertainment; well done, more please!
Netflix: http://movies.netflix.com/Movie/The_Way_Back/70121494?trkid=496624#height1392 Official Site: http://thewaybackthemovie.com/ Director John Cameron Mitchell is making a career in the "loss" genre, "Hedwig and the Angry Inch" (1998). I love adaptations, and this one delicately addresses the unimaginable pain that a couple experiences with the death of their young son. If you're in the mood for a good cry you wont be disappointed!
Netflix: http://movies.netflix.com/Movie/Rabbit_Hole/70124092?trkid=496624#height1730 Official Site: http://www.rabbitholefilm.com Sammo Hung got his meaty hands into this one and gives Donnie Yen a worthy opponent / partner in the continuing Chinese struggle for respect: this time it's against the "foreign devils" British occupiers and their western boxing style. Not as satisfying as the first Ip Man, but worth a viewing for the many thrilling fight scenes. Ip Man 2 contains more boxing than The Fighter!

For an anglophile like me this film is heavenly. Can't think of how it could have been better!

Netflix: http://movies.netflix.com/WiMovie/Yogi_Bear/70137751?trkid=2361637#height1428 Official Site: http://yogibear.warnerbros.com/dvd/ I love tough female characters, and this movie is full of them. Great performances, especially from Sam Rockwell who transforms himself from a regular guy to a hardened convict.
Inspiring, based on a true story, captivating, uplifting. No Oscar nominations? ¿Por qué? Netflix: http://movies.netflix.com/Movie/Conviction/70117342?trkid=496624#height1848 Official Site: http://www.foxsearchlight.com/conviction/ |
