While Richard P. Rogers (of The Windmill Movie) was shooting his autobiographical footage and sleeping with other women, his partner, photographer / journalist Susan Meiselas was risking her life witnessing the early stage of the revolution in Nicaragua. In this moving documentary, Meiselas returns to the scenes of her photographs to seek out her subjects and asses their lives after the "Triumph of the People." No back story to the historical setting, but moving, and a must see for Nica-philes and fans of Susan Meiselas.

FAIR GAME

4/3/2011

Doug (never met a tripod he liked) Liman delivers a solid and meticulously crafted political thriller that has range and depth. But for goodness sake: hold the camera still for a few scenes!
Naomi Watts, and Sean Penn, are great as usual, and the rest of the cast look so much like the real characters, it feels authentic. Important story, well told.
