Fortunately the SLA made a ton of audio recordings which are the backbone of this fascinating even-handed documentary about the abduction of Patricia Hearst. The only way it could be better is if the subject submitted to an interview.  Thoughtful treatment of a significant event at a major turning point in our history.

Been reading the book Divinity of Doubt, The God Question by Vincent Bugliosi: excellent.
Will post later today about Guerrilla: The Taking of Patty Hearst.

Jean Renoir's french poetic realism "film noir" about love, madness and locomotives adapted from Émile Zola's novel. Tragic. Suspenseful. Magnificent trains. Don't be put-off by the opening title roll-up: this is a master work!

BIUTIFUL

Alejandro González Iñárritu is a master of dramatizing human pain. Javier Bardem suffers like no other. Dramatic, depressing portrait of a doomed man trying to die with dignity. Long in length, lots of hand-held camera, outstanding performances by Bardem and Maricel Álvarez.

The end of high cable bills is in sight: adios Time Warner Cable TV. As long as our high-speed internet access doesn't fail, this is going to be the beginning of a beautiful relationship!

The Roku has arrived, but I'm going to finish viewing Biutiful before I set it up.
